Networking Nugget by Casey Eberhart

<<Networking Nugget>> Today should be easy. Look at your desk right now. Surely you have 5 business cards laying around on top. They are just lingering, so let’s fix that! Your nugget is to either throw them in the trash OR send them a quick email letting them know you will be in touch with them in the next week or so. Better an email than let them set for too long.

O.K. I admit I had many more than 5 business cards on my desk when I wrote this, but not any more!  Here is the deal, If you are just storing cards on your desk as a form of procrastination, that’s O.K. so long as you understand these will NEVER turn into full blown business relationships without you doing any work.  It might even help if you take a couple of minutes while facebooking today and separate the cards into stacks by importance.  Just letting the cards stack up only let’s us feel like we are or have been busy but it moves us nowhere closer to adding the person to our network.  I promise it will feel quite liberating when you are able to free yourself of a few cards or even better yet, taking a step towards adding them to your network.

I would like to take a second to say Thank You for being a reader of TheIdealNetworker and many thanks if you have shared one of these <<NetworkingNuggets>> with Facebook.

Networking Nugget by Casey Eberhart

<<Networking Nugget>> Today, very easy and can have some big effects. While you are out and about today, your nugget is to reach your hand out and meet one new person. It will count when there is a handshake and you know their first name. This gets us out in the world and looking for opportunities to meet new people.

This is one of those things that once you get in the habit of doing, it almost becomes second nature.  I was having lunch with a friend a few days ago and as we were walking to our cars she told me that I had created an opening for her business.  I was like, “huh”. She went on to explain that since we had walked into the restaurant she had noticed that I had introduced myself to the Hostess, the Chef, the Server as well as one of the patrons that ended up needing a bit of help keeping the door opened.  I did not even notice because it is a habit for me to introduce myself to as many people as possible. Now, the funny thing, I did not talk about my business at all at luck with any of the people I had just met only because the subject never came up, but I eat there a few times a month and now when I go in, I will be able to start a conversation with my new “friends”. I hope you will get in the habit of extending your hand to someone new everyday.  If you get something out of this Nugget, would you please share it using the Facebook button in the upper right corner?  Also, if you would like a little FREE publicity you can head over to my “Success Spotlight” and add yourself to the community on my website.  I would be honored to have you there.  Visit the Spotlight by heading over to CaseyEberhart.com

What is one of your gifts?

Here’s your “QuoteAction” of the day:

“Everyone is gifted – but some people never open their package.”
An Anonymous Author

Your action for today is to reflect on what are a few of your gifts and be mindful of using one of them.

I feel that one of my best gifts to other’s is my way of being.  I know this sounds a bit nutty but I try really hard to be 100% genuine with people in every situation.  You are given many different gifts in life and I hope you are using as many as you can to better the world and the people around you.

Have an extraordinary day!

Give someone an AWESOME day!!

One thing I’ve learned in our profession is Stories Sell – Facts Tell – which is why I call myself “The Paid Storyteller”. We get paid to tell stories! My husband tells me I finally found a way to get paid to talk!

I’m a mother of 6 children with a husband that travels 4 days a week. I was determined to find a way to make a significant income from home. My background was owning a traditional business & loved it when I discovered network marketing and found a way to create residual income and leverage my time from home! I like to call it “income without overhead”.

Who doesn’t want some extra energy, lose a few pounds, or create another income stream? Almost everyone needs one or more of those! I learned years ago people do what they want NOT what they need! People want energy & they WANT to lose a few pounds. I like to take the path of least resistance when building a business- give people what they WANT. They get results in a couple days – what do they do? Share it and refer others!

I love this profession because where else do you WANT others to be better than you? I have a passion to work with people and let them know there ARE options out there and they can achieve their dreams and their goals! How?

Tell stories!!

Networking Nugget by Casey Eberhart

<<Networking Nugget>> In the upper right corner hit “home”. It will pull up your news feed. I know there will be many people on there who you may not know. Your nugget for the day is to simply leave a COMMENT on every single post you see. It will only let you see about 15 posts. They can be one word comments but NOT just a “like”. The goal is to start interacting with people you may not know.

This is the 1st installment of the Networking Nugget and I am so proud!  In this NUgget, I of course am talking about Facebook and should only take you about 20 minutes.  As it was posting this morning, I started taking my own advice and I reconnected with a friend from high school that I would not normally have.  Every week day, there will be a new Nugget to help you improve your business networking skill set.  I would love your feedback or even a Facebook share up in the upper right corner of this post!
