BET’CHA A BUCK!

There you are, standing in the middle of a hotel meeting room, surrounded by potential prospects for your business, and you’re doing nothing. Don’t feel bad. We’ve all been there more times that we’d like to admit. I confess that there have been times that I was more a part of the room’s décor than I was a part of the group of marketers. But you know, all you need is just a little nudge to get you mingling and I’ve discovered a simple yet very effective way to get myself motivated.

Before I attend any gathering where I hope to meet people I put five silver dollars in my left pocket. Then, I make a promise to myself to meet at least five people in the room. My reward for this? Every time I speak with a prospect I move one silver dollar from my left pocket to my right. I do not leave the event until all five silver dollars are in my right pocket.

Yeah, I know…sounds pretty silly. I mean, the reward is moving the dollars you already own from one pocket to the next. Yet my friends, it works. If you’re serious about meeting people then this method keeps you from the old thought process of, “Oh well, I’ve met two people. That’s enough for today.”

Five. Five people. Five prospects. Five opportunities to grow your business. You’re the boss and you make the rules. Get tough with your company. That means get tough with yourself and be the network marketer you’d want to hire to work for you.

Have an AWESOME day!!

Here is one of my best business building secrets! Only 17 seconds. ;)

Hey Gang~~

I am often asked if there was one single thing that has helped me build a network marketing business. The answer is Yes. I was speaking at an event in Vegas and I was able to sum it up in 11 seconds. Listen close because even though the whole video is only 17 senconds long, it is very very powerful. I would love your comments and if you have a site that sells something, leave it as a comment for other people to find. One of the ways I let people know just how awesome I think they are is by supporting thier business. I hope you will join me on this crusade!! Enjoy and now go Give Someone an AWESOME day!!

Prospects Direct From Your Email to Your Website. A NO BRAINER!

Hey gang! Okay, the old Awesome Meter is just about to blow a gasket on this one. I’m talking about an incredible new tool that will have so much traffic coming to your website or blog that you’ll have to hire parking attendants! And all for nine bucks a month! Can you say, “NO BRAINER?”

It’s called eSig and it’s one of the coolest tools I’ve seen in a long time for the network marketer. Here’s how it works: With eSig you create a custom email signature that goes at the bottom of all of your emails. It can be your logo, a photo, anything you like. But the best part is that you also include icons that when clicked will send readers right where you want them — to your website, your blog, you Facebook page — where ever you can reach them best. It’s that easy!

The signatures look fantastic and certainly grab the eye of your email reader. eSig has hundreds of templates you can use or create your own. Either way the results are nothing short of amazing. In just 24 hours my email signature generated over 40 visits to my website. And all I did was send an email.

We all use email every day. It’s just the way things are done these days. Nothing wrong with it, but what if your emails were working overtime just for you? I mean, what’s more attention grabbing? Your name at the bottom of an email in your boring Times Roman or Ariel font, or a colorful signature with your logo, photos and buttons for your prospects to click right to your site?

Every email you send will be a selling tool. You can instantly change your email signature whenever your like and…and…and…we’re talking NINE BUCKS A MONTH!

Am I excited about this new product and am I pushing it just as hard as I can? H-E-Double Hockey Sticks YES! I’m in the business of helping people be all they can be in our profession and when I find something that works as well as eSig you bet I’m up there on the mountain top shouting about it as loud as I can.

And I’ve just got to add, the eSig donates a portion of their profits to charity.

Thanks, Casey Eberhart 310.345.9019 Give someone an AWESOME day!

Are you in the GAME or are you a Junkie?

Hey gang! For those of us who live in the southwest, a trip to the east coast can be quite a surprise the moment you step off the plane. You walk into that jet way and BAM, it hits you. That danged humidity. Whether you like the moisture or not, you can’t ignore the difference in the way the air feels. You can almost taste it.

That’s what I’m experiencing these days about the network marketing profession. I mean WOW! Everywhere I turn people are joining us in helping others and at the same time helping themselves to a better life. The opportunities have never been greater and the profession never more exciting.

Do you feel it? I hope so. But if you don’t, there’s probably a good reason. Perhaps Webster explains your problem best by defining it as: “An agreement or pledge to do something in the future; especially: an engagement to assume a financial obligation at a future date b: something pledged c: the state or an instance of being obligated or emotionally impelled.” Ah yes, COMMITMENT.

As some of you know, I was recently asked to participate in a great, great, great, great weekend in Seattle at Todd Falcone’s Network Marketing Mastery seminar. I came away from that event so charged up that I was throwing sparks! The days were filled with such incredible content. But one of the most important things I took home with me was the need for us all to totally commit to our businesses. If you really want to make it, you have to get in the game! Purchasing a distributor kit, listening in on conference calls, participating in webinars — all good stuff. However, all that information is useless unless you do something with it.

I met a great guy up in Seattle who told me he was a network marketing junkie. He was on all the conference calls and went to all the events where he got himself super-charged up to hit the road running. But when his feet hit that proverbial road…he was immediately back to a snail’s pace. I asked if these events he attended did him any good and he said, “Yes. I make a call or two afterwards, but then it slacks off. I just wait for the next event and hope for the best.”

Friends, it really breaks my heart to see folks like my friend who really want to do well, but just don’t have the commitment to make their goals come true. Perhaps there’s something we can all do to help. First of all, you have to keep yourself energized. Yes, get on those calls, watch those webinars and most importantly, attend those events! They are our lifeblood and will give you just the boost you might need.

But then, don’t be afraid to reach out to others in your organization who might not be as motivated as you. Encourage them, share what you’ve learned with them, be their personal pep squad! Upline or downline, it doesn’t matter. “What?” you say. “Help the competition?” Competition? Let’s get this straight right now. When one of us wins, we all win. And when one of us fails, it affects the entire profession.

Be generous with your time and encouragement. Don’t be afraid to give away the “secrets” you’ve learned. Take the high road and you’ll be amazed at how wonderful it feels to see so many following behind you.

Now go out there and give someone — especially that someone who may need it most — an AWESOME day!

Either Be a Leader or Get Out of the Way!

Hey Gang!

You know, building a business in network marketing really boils down to one thing. Being a leader. I’ve known so many hard core sales people who get into our profession and hit the road running, signing up prospect after prospect and making a few bucks along the way. But that’s all they do. Once that new person has their start up kit and product, they are left hanging out there on their own. That’s why I prefer the term “relationship marketing.” Your job as a team leader really begins after you bring someone into your organization.

I’ve always found great value in learning from the real leaders of our industry. Heck, just being around them gives me a charge of enthusiasm for our profession that’s hard to get from a book or tape. And actually watching how they work is even more fascinating.

One of the top leaders in our field and one of my mentors and dear friends, John DeHart, puts it best when he simply says, “Monkey See, Monkey Do.” He’s right, you know. You can lecture, coach and write books and blogs all you want. But it’s what you DO that your team sees and copies. You want your team to commit to making at least five calls a day? Then you’d better be making at least five yourself. Think they won’t know if you do or don’t? Think again, my friend. They know. They always know.

People look for leaders that can help them achieve what the leader has already achieved. If someone new to your business is looking to make, say, a couple of hundred bucks a month and that’s what you’re making, well, congratulations. However, if that new eager person is looking to quit their job and bring in a healthy six-figure income and you’re still at a couple of hundred a month…see the problem? Now, don’t think you have to one-up everyone in your organization. There are those blessed times when someone you brought in turns out to be a dynamo and leaps to the top of their game. But you do have to be in the running, out there doing the relationship building and setting a good example of how others can make their dreams come true.

I personally never give you advice that I haven’t already tried and found effective. As the head monkey in my own organization, it’s my duty and my privilege. You should think of yourself the same way. Would you want to be your sponsor? Would you follow your leadership? Would you get excited just to have a conversation with you?

If not, then it’s time for some changes.

Now go out there and give someone an AWESOME day!

NO BAD PROSPECTS, JUST BAD OFFERS!

Hey gang! So how many times has this happened to you? You give someone an out-of-the-ballpark presentation about your product or network marketing opportunity and at the end, just when you’re ready to sign them up and rush home to celebrate, they hit you with those four little words we all dread, “I don’t have the money.” ARGH!

As my good friend Mark Hoverson puts it, if someone tells you they don’t have the money, they you have given them a bad offer. Simple as that. I never take “I don’t have the money” as an objection. I see it as I’ve not lightened the money load. Mark uses a Bentley as a great example. If someone drove a Bentley into a convention, a brand new one worth about $350,000, and said they wanted to sell it for $10,000, how many people do you think would not be able to figure out how to get their hands on 10K and quick? Of course the flip side of that is if someone drove in a banged up 1973 Chevy Vega and wanted to sell it for $100,000. Probably not many takers, don’t you think?

Are you offering a Bentley or a Vega? You know, your offer is like a teeter-totter. There’s the money on the one side and the content you’re offering on the other. Make the content side heavier and the money side lightens.

If someone says they don’t have the money, why not sweeten the pot and offer them a cash bonus from your own pocket for every referral? Now, I’m not saying go against the rules of your company, but there are ways to make your offer more valuable. For instance, if your prospect says they don’t have the time to learn all there is to know about your opportunity, then offer to come and train them in person…for free. That should probably be part of every offer you make anyway. Training is so important, but we’ll leave that for another post.

“I have no money” is a great opportunity for you to learn where you’ve mis-stepped. Maybe they don’t believe in the company. Maybe, just maybe, they don’t believe in you. Find out what their objections really are and overcome them. Be the leader they’re looking for, sweeten the pot, and grow your business like crazy!

Make ’em an offer they can’t refuse, and you’ll be helping your prospect and yourself.

Now go out there and give someone an AWESOME day!

SPEAK UP AND BE HEARD!

Hey gang! There is something I do every single day to get myself more exposure and I love it. Why? Because it’s FREE!

Add comments or links to other people’s blogs. That’s it. Simple. Easy. Effective. Go into forums and make comments. Go to Yelp and add your comments. Even Facebook is a great place to be seen by an unlimited number of people.

I comment on three different blogs every day. In doing so, I become a part of that blogger’s community. Have the commitment to make comments every day and soon you’ll be viewed as a knowledgeable expert of whatever subject is at hand.

Just remember that when you’re commenting you don’t need to sell something every time. Contribute something meaningful to the post or blog. Have something relevant to say. If you’re marketing to, say, fly fishermen, then find a few fly fishing blogs and post tips and stories about fly fishing. Don’t always be a salesman, but rather a part of the community with the community’s needs in mind.

If you’re looking for a place to start, well then come on over to my site, theidealnetworker.com, and leave a comment. I LOVE those comments. And trust me, there’s not a blogger alive who doesn’t follow how many times their blog is reTweeted and put on Facebook. They’re helping you and you’re helping them. Don’t you just love Win/Win? I can see how much traffic I get on my side from when I comment on other people’s blogs. It’s huge. And other bloggers can see, too. That blogger might even call and interview you for a post sometime. How cool is that, huh?

Another thing — when you can upload a picture of yourself to include with your comment. Get your face out there. We all know people relate better to an actual face than just a printed name. Flash those baby blues or dazzle ’em with that smile. Network marketing is personal marketing. Let them see the person that you are.

Read the comments on blogs from others and you’ll get an idea of what works and what doesn’t. But bottom line, if you add value to the post, you have added value to your own business.

Now go forth and blog, my friends. And reTweet, and comment, and Facebook and whatever else you can think of.

And as always, while you’re doing all of that, give someone an AWESOME day!
