I would love your comments or at the very least a Facebook share.;)  I have often asked people if they would rather be rich or right? It is amazing to me how many people especially when networking with other people will blame everything on someone else.  For some reason, people think there is something wrong with taking some responsibility for their actions.  I have no idea why.  For me, when someone steps up and takes responsibility for a mistake or accident, no matter how big the mistake it makes me feel like they are operating from a place of integrity and honesty.  I would love your thoughts on this.  Oh, yeah, you may be asked as you leave here if you would like a free download of a call I did that has received the most requests of any call I have done.  Please accept it as my gift to you.  Have an awesome day, go connect with someone new!

This is so very true, Casey. And not only when it comes to network marketing. People in general are too quick to blame other people/things for their own screw-ups.

“It’s the economy’s fault.”
“My job sucks.”
“My wife left me.”
“I received a bad education.”
And on and on and on.

Wrong! YOU messed up. Admit it. Fix it. Then move on. We ALL make mistakes and it’s those that take responsibility that will move ahead. The rest will stay stuck in mediocrity…all the while playing the blame game.

Hi Casey, I am so glad to be here. Don’t ask me how I came across your name other than sometime last year I jotted it down. Probably listening to a webinar… and tonight I found the scratch pad! So here I am, and funnily I have just finished writing 70 blog posts in 90 days on a challenge and during the last few I did a series on the power or apology, forgiveness, (self and others)… and scheduled for Tuesday I’m talking about responsibility. (they all tie in together in my opinion).

Last week I had a conversation with one of my commenters about the feeling of being right or ‘owning’ the situation. It was comical really, because we both agreed that ‘topically’ it feels easier to be ‘right’ but underneath, we still hurt when we don’t buck up and take responsibility! Hmmm glad we see things the same way. There must have been a reason for me to venture onto your site!

Hi Case,

This can be a really sticky one especially since almost everyone has the basic need to be right in light of how many times in our lives we have been forcefully shown that we have been wrong in someone else’s eyes. It’s amazing how many times I find that I want to be right just to prove a point only to discover that it doesn’t really matter one way or the other. I don’t remember where I read or heard it but it went something like this. Even if you are right and prove the other person wrong they will resent that fact. Is it worth it? Not even. Would I rather be HAPPY & rich than right.

Wow awesome stuff, and I appreciated the comments as well. We try to teach our kids to admit they are wrong, not lie, stop blaming their brother or sister, but are they being taught from what they witness?
